Scope and goals

The Content Test is designed to assess the Teacher Candidate's:

1) Ability to listen, read, speak, and write in the language

2) Knowledge of language acquisition and instruction

 

Format

It is a computer-based test, and it consists of 65 multiple-choice questions and 2 constructed-response assignments.

It is offered on certain dates at specific test centers in Illinois. Please register for it as soon as you can. You need to have passed the content test before you can begin student-teaching. Any delays may jeopardize your ability to get your teaching license by the time you graduate.
